Our work
We develop health solutions for people facing demanding conditions, from a procedure far from specialist care to the lasting effects of environmental and workplace exposures.
Clinical domains
Farstep℠
Frontier Interventional & Procedural Medicine
Farstep develops proprietary distributed protocols and techniques to advance human physician extenders in frontier interventions and procedures, beginning with interventional radiology. Clinical expertise and data-informed development lay the foundation for future robotic physician extenders.
Operational lead: Jonathon Schutt
Xovli℠
Frontier Environmental & Occupational Medicine
Xovli develops Frontier Environmental & Occupational Medicine for people whose health is shaped by their environment, exposures and work. Its work connects physician-led assessment, prevention, investigational treatment and follow-through over time. Research includes PFAS exposure and response.
Operational lead: Hector Rivera-Marrero
Shared capabilities
Four shared divisions equip and enable both clinical domains.
XAVWERX
Invention & development
Clinical inquiry, invention, prototypes and early proof.
Full scope
Led by John Pavlus, XAVWERX examines what a clinical task requires and what prevents it from being done better. It turns that inquiry into inventions, prototypes and focused experiments across devices, intelligence, protocols and delivery. Device programs advance toward product development through XAVMED.
Medical devices from development, quality and regulatory work through manufacturing, commercialization, sales and field support.
Full scope
Xavmed develops medical devices around the procedure and the clinician. Its full medical-device remit includes development, regulatory and quality work, manufacturing, commercialization, sales, clinical training and field support. John Pavlus directs medical-device development.
XAVAI
Clinical software & data
Governed information, software and intelligence across products and operations.
Full scope
Xavai develops clinical software, AI and secure information systems for products, research and company operations. Its work emphasizes reliability, evaluation, human oversight and fit with clinical workflows.
XAVCARE
Frontier Longitudinal Care
Frontier Longitudinal Care: AI-augmented clinical care, coordination and virtual support across settings and over time, beginning with continuity after intervention.
Full scope
XAVCARE is developing Frontier Longitudinal Care: AI-augmented coordination, virtual support and connected clinical teams to bridge gaps in access, expertise and continuity. Care must follow the person as needs, caregivers and surroundings change. Our starting point is continuity after intervention, supporting recovery and follow-through as needs change. Our broader direction spans chronic conditions, complex care, aging at home and caregiver support. A proposed VA application would connect care across VA facilities, community providers and home, with follow-up completion, timely information exchange and staff coordination burden as initial measures. Clinical follow-up, case management, documentation, coverage, ordering and fulfillment support that continuity, with clinicians retaining clinical judgment.
